The first version of RopeLog (an app for Android) has been released. The following is a copy of the app description that is displayed on the Android market:

Inspect your rope before and after every use and conveniently record where, when, and how it was used. Rate the condition of your rope during each inspection and take notes on observed damage or abuses that occured during use. RopeLog can be an invaluable tool for tracking the lifespan of your equipment and making safe and informed decisions regarding future use.
RopeLog is similar to a paper log but paper logs are easily lost or misplaced. Using RopeLog to track your rope use is more convenient than a traditional paper solution. The log is never farther than your phone.
Application Features:
Track rope use and condition. Each log entry includes the inspection date, location, condition rating (1-5), inspection-notes, use, use-notes, and inspector's initials. Logs also include the rope's type, manufacturer, model, manufacture date, length and diameter.
Manage multiple logs. Add, modify, copy, and remove logs and entries, as well as move entries between logs.
Display log information. Quickly browse, identify, and review logs and entries. View additional log statistics that summarize time spans and other useful patterns.
Search logs and entries. Quickly search log and entry fields by keyword.
Import / Export logs to csv file. Archive or modify logs on your personal computer using a spreadsheet application. Write files to sdcard or attach them to email.
Form Autocompletion. Form fields remember previous values and suggest them for quick addition or modification of logs.
